Brenda Flatmo Tattoo and Art bio picture
  • Brenda Flatmo

I am a tattooer and aspiring painter. In this blog I have two aims: by sharing some of my work as both completed pieces and progression shots of projects, I hope to give the viewer a peek into the process of tattooing. I also hope that this blog might bring me closer to my work by forcing me to be more methodical and contemplative as I record and photograph these projects in various stages of development. Generally, things move so quickly in business, art and in life, that as one project or job is finished, I find myself rushing headlong to the next task and I hope that this blog might slow down time, if just a little.

  • PluraBella, LTD.

My studio is called PluraBella. I share it with my husband, Kore- an extremely talented artist and tattooer that is a daily inspiration to me.
We live and operate in Cincinnati, Ohio, although we make regular trips to the Los Angeles area and even to the occasional tattoo convention.

Tyche sleeve completed!

So my awesome client Kelly came back recently for another visit and we were able to finish his sleeve with 2 final days of work. We had decided to go with a bird on the back of his forearm, to fill up the bit of space left there and I was really excited to be able to add a sweet little mockingbird that I’d been hanging on to for juuuussst the right project. The bird had unfortunately  begun healing by the third day, when we had our photo session so it’s a bit difficult to see, but, hopefully I’ll be able to get more photos of the sleeve after it’s fully healed.

It was a great experience for me- lots of interesting subject matter to tackle along with lots of interesting conversation while we progressed on the piece- who could ask for more?  Insert smiley face here!

A gallery of Celtic tattoos

This gallery features a selection of some of the Celtic work that I’ve done over the past couple of years. It’s a style that I love to work in and I’m constantly trying to learn more about it, refine my technique and to attempt new combinations. I always have Celtic projects going, so I look forward to updating this gallery often and there will likely be separate posts with progression shots, too.

A new gallery: Portraits

Ok, here is another new gallery ( I think that I’m beginning to get the hang of this, finally). This one features portraiture and I’ll be adding more images gradually. Thank you!!

A new gallery: flowers

Here is an assortment of tattoos containing flowers. I tend to tattoo alot of them which is great because I enjoy them as subjects: there is such a huge variety of them and they can be added to anything. I should be adding to this gallery frequently, so stay tuned.
